If the object is bright, there's not too much difference I reckon, thus debate. But going after fainter objects, CCD hands down.

In my mind I see 2 old guys. It's about 11am wed. morn. @ a VFW type place. On the bar there is a couple of canes hooked on the rail and two 6oz straight glasses w/half flat Busch beer. A thin veil of cigar smoke hangs in the air broken only by the banter of these two men as they discuss the finer points of astrophotography.

He shot it with a mod'd Canon Rebel Eos in 2005.

LOL...I like Marcs better too BUT....read the details of the pic...the HelixGate pic was DSLR too!

Oh, and true that...CCD or DSLR...there are other factors that must be considered as well, your location, what you are shooting, the equip you will be using. This is only a little piece of the pie. But an important one!
