Wireless Extenders

I need to get one of these for the wife. She has signal problems w/her Mac (funny my cheaper Toshiba(s) never have an issue, even twice as far away at the observatory). Any of you guys had/have any experience w/these? What are the key things to look for? Looking for a mid price unit. Thanks, Marc
