Got the deck taken out, and my buddy and his small crew put in an 18 inch round pier with a T base 5 feet deep. The dirt in my hill is super strong and solid, and I'm guessing that pier base isn't moving at all if much at all. Just levelled the J bolts (except he used screws with flat square 3 inch plates on the end. It'll be solid. So, that part is done. Monday they install the actual deck, should be done my tuesday. Wed. my observatory shows up. Can't wait.

Maybe a ratchet strap (or a rope set up as one) around the whole thing will pull it all in round (like a barrel hoop). Marc

Having issues getting the top wall round enough for the dome. Frustrated, and tired, we stopped for the night before the mozzies came out. We'll be back on it in the AM.

I wis it had lego like tolerances in manufacturing. These things are not super highest measurement standards. But cool enough, I'm managing. The wheels themselves took an hour to put in. This assembly, in the baking sun, has me whipped at the moment.

it's not as difficult to construct as I had imagined, at least not yet, the dome and door opening might be an issue. But the walls were OK. The biggest thing is that the assembly manual absolutely sucks, and you have to drill your own holes. So I sort of looked at the assembly photo's online and then referenced the instruction manual. sort of not ideal but these walls seem OK, level and round, and the door opens, so that seems about right.

Third wall, partially bolted in, but not quite, still a lot of play. Will assemble dome after lunch and then put that on and then bolt it all in once we know for sure the dome is spinning correctly.

Second wall, we just bolted them in, nearly a circle, pretty close.

I don't want the kid to be picked on woodrow.

Speaking of kids...I hear Trevor is a very popular name...just saying...for the kids, not the dome.
