Got the deck taken out, and my buddy and his small crew put in an 18 inch round pier with a T base 5 feet deep. The dirt in my hill is super strong and solid, and I'm guessing that pier base isn't moving at all if much at all. Just levelled the J bolts (except he used screws with flat square 3 inch plates on the end. It'll be solid. So, that part is done. Monday they install the actual deck, should be done my tuesday. Wed. my observatory shows up. Can't wait.

The shutter now works!!!!! That wasn't really complicated, even if the directions wanted it to be. STOKED. Now I need to wire up DDW box and I'm fully functional. Super stoked.

What you think Charlie, on the otherside, maybe a hammock?

Plenty of room is right Basti. It's super comfortable in there, think I'll find myself a nice chair so I can hang out there all night and just chill out, watch stuff on my ipad out there.

Paramount pier and mount, Pyxis LE rotator, moonlight autofocuser, oag to lodestar guider, H18 starlight express CCD with wheel, and an 11 inch edgeHD SCT, and a flatman XL all hooked up to a desktop PC and housed in a ProDome 10 foot. I've got a rad setup, now all I need is the clouds to clear.

My new desk. It's super stable, nice big workspace. Perfect. I've been on this shaky little thing for a while, this is a total upgrade. Kind of nice, I hung out in here all day just cruising.

BTW the pier, it's WAYYYYYY more stable than my last setup. This thing is for real. I think that fact alone will make a huge different in my shots.

I'm setting up. Will just try to get the software working and a simple alignment. Just got back from dinner double date with Leddy and have had a few drinks so nothing won't attempt to do too much, but this is INSANE. I'm pretty happy that the dome is rotating and it's totally usable.

Here's a link to the dome turning test. Leddy is inside controlling it by the switch. Pretty cool.
