I just got back from a week at Pine Mountain Observatory in central Oregon. This was a science research program for high school kids and I was one of the mentors (despite having no experience in scientific imaging). My group did photometry and astrometry on an asteroid, but we also found some time to take this picture of the Trifid Nebula. This was captured with my Starfire 142 (f/7.5) because that is what we had been using for the science project.
